how to tell whether a website is being accessed or not

hi experts,

is there a way for me to tell whether our website is being accessed or not.  the website is residing in a windows 2000 terminal server.

look at the log files.

its an intranet only.  i just want to know the list of users that's currently accessing the website.

Log files will show you the IPs accessing the site.

If you put security on the site and make people use IE to browse it, pass through authentication will also record the user name of the person accessing the page.

what about the list of users that's currently accessing the site?  i want to be able to see if there are users who are currently using the site before i restart it......

If you use Performance Monitor, you can see the current number of ACTIVE connnections, but not who's using them (you'd have to look up the logs).  You want the IIS counters in performance monitor.  A performance Monitor tutorial is available here:
