When creating a messaage: "Delivery-options..."-button, 1st tab, checkbox "Return receipt".
Unfortunately, you can't set it for every future message, unless you make a programmatic change to the design of your mailbox: on the Memo-form, the field "ReturnReceipt" should be set to "1".

Clicking "Delivery-options..."-button, 1st tab, checkbox "Return receipt" will set the field "ReturnReceipt" on the memo to "1".
That's all we need to do to request a return receipt; setting that field to "1".

The field is not included on the memo form by default. Depending on your notes licence (id), your access rights and the availability of the designer client, you could alter the memo form and add the field, with a default value "1".

The way you asked gives me a feeling that this isn't going to work in your case....

Yes you can.

What you can't easily do is set it as a DEFAULT.  You need to do this separately for each message you send, before you send it.

Cheers!

return receipt just means they opened it. It doesn't really tell you if they got it or not. They can receive it without ever opening it.

I would set the delivery report to "Confirm Delivery" under delivery options.

Sorry just had to throw that in there.

Confirm delivery report is sent when the server has delivered the message to your mailbox. The mailbox owner could be miles away when the delivery report is sent.

The return receipt is (in normal circumstances) sent then a user opens the message.

I just prefer confirm delivery because it comes from the server and you know it was delivered on the other end.

If you're tricky, you can create agents to delete return receipts or if working on a local replica remove them from the mail.box before you replicate. I've had some of my users find these tips already on other websites and it's caused confusion.
