   Dim dv As Variant ' your datevalue
    Dim fd As Long

    fd= Year(dv)*10000 + Month(dv) * 100 + Day(dv)

If you want it as a string, use
    fds= CStr(fd)

FYI, much easier to do:

fd = Cint(fds)
