Hi,

I am working on a visual basic program that emails candidates and employees on their birthday.
1. First, I query an ODBC database for employee records or candidate records and extract all the data according to their Date of  Birth. I am providing a calendar in the interface to allow users to choose a day and extract data for this date.
2. When the extraction is done, it extracts the name, the date of birth and the email address, which it fills in a dbgrid.
3. Then the user can correct email addresses if he sees some obvious mistakes.
4. After that, the user presses the SEND button and it needs to send a personalized email to everyone with HTML`

I am OK for 1,2,3 but the HTML email with an image is a problem to me.

How do I get to send a personnalized HTML message via VISUAL BASIC 6

Thanks !

so none of these help. The first one links to the FREEVBCODE and i cannot make it work with an HTML message with images in it, and the second link shows how to put an image in BASE64 mostly .. ..

anything else I can do ?? ..

I just need some code to be able to send an HTML message with images via a VISUAL BASIC 6 software, since my data will probably come from an access or ecxel file, or even possibly from a text file.

(I would then use the REPLACE() function to change a string in the HTML file to put the person's name to make it personnalized)

Thanks !

It was what I used to add a background image to a HTML e-mail I was sending. Isn't it what you are trying to do ?

I have used vbSendMail to send the HTML e-mail. The body of the message is where you need the CID tag to refer to the image to see it in the background.

I first attach the image (named rquant.jpg) to my message (using the Attachment property) and I set my background tag to "cid:rquant.jpg" .
