I would just use the "Delete Person" button in the directory.

I would personally use the Delete function of Domino Directory.  However, this will clear the user from Domino Directory, remove their rights to any databases, and stop routing to their mail file.  So, this option is really going to "wipe the person out." However, you will have the option to keep their mail file itself.

Now, as an alternative, you can always use the built-in "Deny Access Group" in Domino Directory.  This way, everything should stay intact for them, but they just can't get onto Lotus Notes and do anything (good for security).  This is a good one to use in a lay off situation.

Hope that helps some.

Do you still need a license for a user that has left the company but they still have a company e-mail set to "Deny" that you mentioned above?

I am not 100% certain but I would expect that you do.  You may want to check with Lotus/IBM to see how those licenses apply. You may be able to avoid conflicts there by simply making sure that the departed user does not have the Notes client installed on his/her abandoned PC.

Certainly, however, deleting the person altogether -and- uninstalling the client s.ware would clear up any licensing questions.
