Views are exported as tables in the destination database

I have noticed, and other users have noticed, that occasionally a view will not be a view in the destination database, but rather is a table.  I believe part of the reason is a broken ownership chain in the source view; however, the users insist there are other times it happens.

Can someone please give me a comprehensive list (as much as possible) of the conditions that cause this behavior.

If you use DTS Import/Export Wizard and you select the first option in the Specify Table Copy or Query, which is the Copy table(s) and view(s) from the source database, views will be exported as tables in the destination database.

But if you select the third option, Copy objects and data between SQL Server databases, it will export views as views in the destination database.
