Does SAP limit a Unit of Measure of EA (each) to quantities of integers only?
I have been told that one I assign a Unit of Measure to a material of EA (each) all quantities for Requirements, Orders, and Inventory must be in integers. This may also be true for a UOM of PC (pieces).
If fractional quantities are needed/stored/shipped then it would make sense to use another UOM. Since you cannot change a Base Unit of Measure once it has been assigned, this decision is critical.
If the use of fractional quantities is controlled thru Configuration, then I would like to know which transaction should be used to set this control - and if it can be changed, once assigned.

OK - I don't know where it is configured but I do know that table T006 has fields that control the Decimals and display characteristics of a UoM.

I had a problem where I was not able to assign a fractional quantity in a BOM (using decimals) and I was asking whether or not there was a configuration setting anywhere where you could restrict any given UOM to integers only. In one of my legacy systems EA was a reserved UOM that would only accept integers.
I guess I need to dig deeper to find out why I can only assign whole numbers in the BOM for quantity for a UOM or EA, but can use fractional numbers for other UOM's.
