I am trying to migrat over to a new ISP for some personal stuff that i am doing and i think i might have an issue with this ISP. normally oi like to do a lot of XML stuff and this ISP states:
WebPermission to perform HTTP requests, e.g. to use external XML Web Services. The access must be done using a proxy server ntproxy.1and1.com on port 3128

now if i am using the code belwo how would i add the proxy server to this?

I called their helpdesk but they where as usfull as air conditioning in Iceland!:)

<%
dim objXMLHTTP
dim SEARCH_STR
      IF Request("WORD") = "" THEN
            SEARCH_STR = "somthing"
      ELSE
            SEARCH_STR = Request("WORD")
      END IF
URL = "http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q="& SEARCH_STR
Set objXMLHTTP = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")
objXMLHTTP.Open "GET", URL, false
objXMLHTTP.Send

start = InStr(objXMLHTTP.responsetext, "<html>")
finish = InStr(objXMLHTTP.responsetext, "</html>")

amount = finish - start
extract = Mid(objXMLHTTP.responsetext,start,amount)

Response.Write extract

Set objXMLHTTP = Nothing

I have some good news and some bad news for you.

The good news is that you'd can do it but, you'd have to use the Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTPutility.

Set objXMLHTTP = Server.CreateObject("Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP")
...

The bad news is that the setup of this object has to be done locally (preferably via the admin) with the use of proxycfg.exe

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/xmlsdk/html/ServerXMLHttpProxy.asp

Now if they already have done this, then all you have to do is to use the object mentioned.

I have dealt with MaximumASP. Pricey but well worth it. They'd do the setup for you as well.
