Group Policy: Allow access to admin shares through windows Firewall

I want to allow admin shares to be accessed (\\pc_name\c$), but windows firewall seems to be blocking it.

Does anyone know where the setting is in Group Policy?

Admin shares can only be accessed by admins.....you can't set permissions on these shares.

For the firewall....make sure you have allowed file and printer sharing as an exception.

As for group policy for windows firewall, these settings are located under:

computer configuration- admin templates- network- network connections- windows firewall

Note: you must have the latest admin templates in order to have these settings.

sorry, my fault found it -

configuration > admin templates > network > network connections > windows firewall > Allow file and Print sharing exceptions
