Table Update_time with InnoDB

Currently I am on MyISAM engine and using "SHOW TABLE STATUS" query to get the last updated time for a table. Now I have to switch to InnoDB. When I tested the aforestated query, the "Updated_time" column is NULL.
Is this expected ? If yes, is there another way to get the updated time of a table ?

    Accepted Solution

I think there is no way other than the one u mentioned for getting the last modified time of table
    (from show table status)

And that update_time will be maintained for InnoDB tables..thats why it's showing NULL in that column for InnoDB tables
