Counting Website Hits on Web Server

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 Server running IIS 5.  What I do to monitor the webserver connections I go to
Start --> programs --> administrative tools --> Performance and add the Webservices.

I don't know how accurate it is.  Is there some free software or any type of trial to count the actual hits and generate reports.
For example number of users, peak times, maximum connections...etc

I use this:

http://top.addfreestats.com/index.html

Its free if you put a button on your site or you can pay and not have the button on your pages.   The stats are very in depth.

One of the leading site stats software is from webtrends:

Hitbox is good too....

Here is a PHP based web counter it is free

http://bbclone.de/

Description: For each visitor, BBClone counter can display: IP address with reverse DNS, whois information, operating system, browser, referring URL (where do they come from), visit date, search engine keywords, country, page visits and number of visitors in a graphical interface. Additionally referrers and ip addresses can be ignored if necessary. No database is required, just add a few lines into the PHP pages to be tracked and the code does not appear in the source.
