hi,
This is for apache but good tutorial. If have IIS just assume that this is for IIS it is almost same besides what you select in the drop down as server.

Also following is official link from macromedia.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/installation.html << I still prefer to refer the link mentioned above.

Step BY Step INstalling Cold Fusion instructions from Macromedia: http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/6.1/htmldocs/part_ins.htm

1) Install Windows XP
2) Install Cold Fusion - it will install its own server with a development license - i.e. one connection allowed
3) Create a web page

General COnfiguring Webs Server from Macromedia : http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/6.1/htmldocs/config11.htm#wp1117590

Now the better way if you want others to see the page is
1) Install Windows XP
2) Install IIS
3) Run IIS Lockdown to make sure it is secure
4) Windows UPDATE!!!
5) Set up a website using IIS --> http://www.no-ip.com/tips.php/id/6
 Or from Macromedia specific for CF --> http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/6.1/htmldocs/config12.htm Configuring IIS
6) Install Cold Fusion to IIS
7) Create a web page
