Hi Paul,

My sympathies.  What did you do to invoke Sunny's wrath?

All,

Sorry! I got a bit lost. I only just got online at home and I managed to lose almost all my subscriptions when I changed my e-mail address to my home number while I was taking a week off. I'm back at work now so everything is back to normal ... except I'm back at work ... yukk.

Thanks for the votes of welcome! This is an awesome responsibility. If any of you see anything I might not have noticed, please let me know at my EE e-mail address. I think that addres is working!

Sunny, I got asked today to review some of your questions for upgrade to 'A'. That felt really strange! I tried to be fair.

Kent, I've noticed you tolerate homework questions better than most! Can I rely on you to let me know straight away if someone posts code on a Q you are on? (I'll probably stay off cause they frustrate me after a while). It has been recommended that I post a warning on any homework questions that helpers stay away from posting code etc. Some higher ups (eric) believe that this might be a bit 1984 so I'll hold back if you or any of the trustees (sunny, greg, brett, jaime etc, you all know who you are) are on the case.

Ronan, Thanks! Sunday was good! I got the time to take the dogs out for a walk in sunshine!! Doesnt happen much here in the UK. I do my best thinking when out with my dogs. I've got a Border collie called Quat (we promised the kids we'd never have a dog, yeah I know its a kind of drug but we didnt know that at the time) and a Jack Russel called Bear (he's a naughty one but can out-cute a newborn baby at two paces).

CoolGuy, sometimes, points become unimportant.

Smpoojary,
>>int main()
Shouldnt this be:
int main(int argc, char * argv[]){
 ...
;}

See yah all.

Hi Paul,

I tolerate homework questions only because I hated it so badly when it was assigned to me.  I've got a certain sympathy with the folks that are trying to do it now.  :)

As Sunny should confirm, I generally don't bug him too much with stories of violators or those pushing the envelope.  Consequently, when I do bug him (about this stuff) he takes me serious.

As the page editor can you now impose the fix:

  points /= strcmp (name, "sunnycoder") ? 2 : 1;

Thanks!
Kent

Come clean Kent! Youre just jealous of our PE status. I'll put in a word with Eric and he'll have you signed up in a jiffy ;} Theres loads of points available for all ;}.

Seriously though, I wouldnt see it as telling teacher but helping me out! Your call.

Paul,

You were asked to review those questions because you are now the PE. You would be required to do that often :-) ... I am no longer a PE. My current circumstances do not permit me to devote the kind of time to EE as I once used to.
If it is OK with you, we can close this from my time
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/C/Q_21255010.html
You are independent in handling your TA. Handle it the way you like :-)

I see that you have corrected the mail-id;-). A suggestion, delete it from the thread, post it in the profile and mask it so that it is readable but not easily harvested by spam bots. If you post your id in open pages, you would be flooded with spam in no time. Some of us had that experience as some older threads in admin/PE TA would testify. In any case, it is EE policy not to post mail-ids in threads.

furqanchandio,

Hi, but your first smiley in (; ;) is inverted ... ;)

Cheers!

Sunny,

Re: My e-mail address, good point!

Re: 21255010. Is it possible to keep this one open. It was a good idea and I think something like it is useful. Tell you what, lets leave it as it is until cleanup starts nagging. We can then make a fresh new one and post a link to it. What do you think.

Re:furquanchandio. Good point! I wonder how many emoticons we can achieve in real syntactically correct C. First hit:

int _=0; // Surprised and one-eyed?
for (; ;) // Siamese twin smileys.
{; // Left handed Sneaky smiley.
 if(_) // Mug (coffee, beer)
  X*=(0); // You think of this one.
;} // Sneaky smile.

I've been taking my awards and melting them down to recycle the precious metals.

So far, I'm about $1.00 short of paying for a cup of coffee.  :)

100K is a milestone in C .. may not be a big deal in other point rich areas, but C - with likes of Kent on the prowl, it is a big deal  ;-) ..

And yes, big points do look good on a PE

With the power came the responsibility .. Something which I felt I could not longer do justice too ...

You are just as prominent a member of the C team and I am glad you wield it now.
