Is audio working fine with your MSN 7 ?

Have you downloaded MSN 7 from messenger.msn.com website or someother website. Make sure to get it from messenger.msn.com..

When you log into MSN messenger , go to Tools > Webcam settings and see if you can view your video fine ? This would be the first step . Post back what you see

I did download it from link specified above. Still nothing, i also went into webcam settings, when i chose usb cam (which is the only option) and apply, nothing. Its not recognizing it, could it be a BIOS feature?

cjsasl,
> Still nothing, i also went into webcam settings,

When you log into MSN messenger 7 and then going to tools > web cam settings , dont you see the preview video directly without having to select anything ?

You would have to use Audio/video tuning wizard to change camera selection

Can you please tell us whether you have "Netmeeting" installed.

Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup tab.

Click on "Communications", and then click the "Details" button.

Is "NetMeeting" ticked?

I found out that that the cameras will not work with certain video cards. Also sometimes there are problems with MSN also. I would search for some other sites that works with your web cam. I used to be on the sites, but it hs been a long time and I do not remember what they are. Unfortunately I do not have them in my data base.

Try http://www.eyeballchat.com/download/register.php

If you have problems with the PC recognizing your Web cam do the folowing.

Uninstall the software from the control panel. Disconnect the USB web cam.
Reinstall the software. Turn of the PC.
Plug in the web cam and restart the PC.

Uninstall the web cam program.
Reinstll it without the web cam plugged in as mentioned.
Turn off the PC
Plug in the web cam
Install the the following program. It will recognize the web cam http://www.eyeballchat.com/download/register.php

I have had problems with net meeting but it was a conflict with my video card.

With OE has occured at 0028:C0031A54 in VXD ---. This was called from 0028:C00301F9 in VXD ---. It may be normal to continue normally.
You have a corrupted file possibly caused by not uninstalling the web cam program through the control panel.

You can reboot your PC
Click on {f8} rapidly until the dos screen shows up
C:\
Type cd windows
Type cd command
Type scanreg /restore
Pick a registry date when the error did not appear. You will have 4 choices.

Please continue with your feed back. It is much easier to help a client when all the details are posted exactly.

I went to Nextech.com and it is a medical site! Who makes the camera? Possibly a new driver would help though I doubt it.

Does it work with eyeball? MSM has not worked with me when I had my web cam attached. You should just not incorporate MSM in your configuration. This is the reason I tried Eyeball and ICQ among other sites.

Give me a blow by blow description of what you are doing. I just may install my camera again to see if I can get it to work with Eyeball.

go to http://www.eyeballchat.com/help/ts.php?problem=Video which is the trouble shooting page for eyeball chat.

I used to be on several sites including paltalk, but 90 percent are pornographic. I eventually got tired of it. Hope you have better luck.

Also I just typed into google 'web cam chat' an up popped a huge list of sites. Maybe you can find one to your liking.

I am glad I could help. It always gives me a fuzzy feeling when I can help someone. Maybe this is why I spend about three hours a day on this web site.

Thanks for the points. These characters who own this site won't even give out T shirts when one gets a certificate!
