I'm using Vonage with a Linksys Wireless-G and am trying to troubleshoot less than great dsl speeds. Is there bandwidth overhead consumed even when i'm not on the phone?

    Hi juststeve,
Yes, there will be some - but nothing significant.

Your telephone adaptor and the Vonage service will periodically contact each other, just to make sure that the other one is there.
However, the volume of this traffic is very low indeed - and shouldn't be noticeable.

Do you have speed issues from a device connected directly to your DSL router, or is it just those devices that are connected wirelessly?
