I want to contact game system manufacturers

I work for a company that hosts several regional game conventions each year.  One of the features of our conventions is our electronic gaming.  Right now it is almost exclusively PC games we feature.  We want to expand our offerings in this area.  I'd like to contact game system manufacturers to find out if there would be any interest in a collaborative effort to get more systems into our events while offering the manufactures an opportunity to promote their systems to an enthusiastic group of people.

The problem is this isn’t my area and I have no idea who to contact.  If anyone has any specific names and companies I could contact or other advice in this area I’d really appreciate it.

Alternatively, I’d like to know if this is a really stupid idea.

    I don't think it's a stupid idea at all.

In fact, I have known people who have LAN parties every couple months or so. And they seem to be able to get companies like nVidia, ATI, Intel, Dell, Sound Blaster, etc, to donate hardware for raffles or giveaways at the LAN parties.

Unfortunately, I don't have any contacts. I'm only piping in to say it not a bad idea, and you shouldn't give up on it.

You say one of the features is your electronic gaming. Then you say right now it is almost exclusively PC games we feature. Then you say you want to expand our offering in this area.
    Which area?
the PC games that you say is almost exclusively...........or the electronic side?
I'll assume you want to increase the electronic side, or maybe I am reading it wrong.

Here is a link to the major electronic game manufacturers and their websites. I would go to each, locate their mailing addresses and contact them about who at their company attends such conventions and then proceed to invite them to one of your conventions by sending them a nice info packet with photos, etc.

What I meant was that we have focused on PC games almost exclusivly.  At our last convention we had about ten computers networked together mostly playing first person shooter games.  We also had a new game (I don't know the name) that uses a floor mat to control the screen action and combines exercise with a video game.  There might also have been a game boy or two.  The hope is to expand into the console game system area.  Hope this clears up my thoughts.

    I'll try that link.

I would suggest going to the websites for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. They all manufacture the latest game consoles, like Xbox, Playstation 2, PSP, Gamecube, Game Boy, etc. Those about all the latest systems. Send them an e-mail and ask for the person to contact to send your info packet about your game convention. I am not finding a directory of console manufacturers, since there really are only the three above.
I am reading your post again and I am still not sure what you are looking for. I know three types of games:
    1. pc games
    2. video games like N64, Xbox, Playstation etc.
    3. and then casino type games.

I doubt you'll get any interest from Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft but you could try.

    here is a link:
go down the page and you see the "video" game systems since 1977 as they evolved each year.
below that are links to the top 5 console manufacturers. The two I left off my previous response were Sega and Atari.
