ADO.NET and MOVELAST

ADO 2.7 had a movelast command for use with a recordset, the nearist thing in ado.net to a recordset is the dataset, but it lacks a movelast or end of rows command, is there a command i just missed in the intellisense (or class drill down i cant find in my references).  or am I stuck writing a while not eof loop to get to the bottom of the recordset, (dataset), i just want the last piece of data from a single column in a table so i can add 1 to it and write it back (don't ask it's not worth explaining).

TIA
