Uninstall of Active Directory Incomplete need help fast

I have an network server that I tried removing Active Directory from and it ended up not removing it completely and I'm stuck in limbo....Do I have to reformat the hardrive.  I backed it up about 2 days ago and I can't get into the system restore setting in bootup...  The password I'm giving it doesn't work..is there a way to reset the administrators password?

Click Start, click Run, and then type the following command:
dcpromo /forceremoval

That should do it.  No need to reformat.
