triggers and feeding value to report paramters

I have multiple users running this crystal report.  The report is located in a an app.  The report is linked to the app via a report id.  There are many subreports in the main report.  The report is slowing because I am not filtering the data on the subreports.

One solution I would like to create is this :

The main report of the crystal report is a stored procedure that has an input parameter called report id.

I would like to feed this report id once updated to all the subreports (stored procedures on the sql server side) once the main report is called.

Is it possible to create a trigger that could call the stored procedures and input the report id to them from the main stored procedure.

I know that trigger would fire once the temp_ext_report table is updated with a report id.

Then in a stored procedure, I could execute all of them with the new id.

...this is as far as I can think right now.

You see : there could be more than one user running the crystal report so I don't know how I would hold the data....

Any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't sound like a good idea.  How do you have your subreports linked?

JSON is being used more and more, besides XML, and you surely wanted to parse the data out into SQL instead of doing it in some Javascript. The below function in SQL Server can do the job for you, returning a quick table with the parsed data.
