Installation of INF files

How to install INF files in Windows 2000. It is not detecting drivers for ES 1869 card. There is a conflict for audio device in device manager. Tried installing the drivers from ESS but it is not detecting the drivers for both inf files in the drivers. Also tried updated drivers icon in the device manager. Restarted the computer with card in and tried New Hardware Found wizard too, that too did not work.

Does anybody have an answer for this?

hi!

ess doesn't supply drivers for winxp/2k becouse they are built-in in these os

so...
open control panel (START->Control Panel)
new hardware installation
it's already connected? YES
if doesn't find it itself choose it from the list.. (if you dont find in the list select new hardware at the bottom)
select expert
if asked choose "Audio controller, Video, Game"
search ESS Technology from the list on the LEFT
then search your card in the list on the Right.. im sure there is becouse i have
(if necessary unflag "choose only compatibile drivers")
click next next next....

hope it work!
let me know..

oh... can be some word different (i have an italian version of winXP) but win2000 it really like winXP and the meaning it's the same in italian or in english.....

if don't work may be i can tell u another solution...
bye!

Sometimes it helps by changing the slot used for the card.

Thank you mates!

Windows is not detecting the drivers by its own. The drivers are the right ones from ESS, but they are not getting installed. I have did it successfully several times but not getting this correct this time. I changed the slot and also downloaded the drivers. I also tried updating drivers from the drivers tab in device manager. All it says is not detecing the right drivers for the hardware.
