3Com network supervisor detetcts smtp and po3 traffic

I just did a discovery of my lan and when i check the stress of some servers they all show a very high level for SMTP and POP3 service.

My mail server if fine (Low stress) and i have no idea where these high levers are coming from.

Anyone else see this ?

I could possibly be viruses. On Windows Server 2000 a couple of weeks ago the was an exploit with the MYTOB virus if the proper updates were not installed. If the servers don't use pop3 or smtp I would close those ports down on the firewall and run the necessary updates and then run a virus scan. You can also look at the process running on the servers to see if there is any suspicious proccesses running, which could give you a clue of being infected.
