HIDING THE TEXTBOX BY A FORMULA

LETS SAY i have 7 textboxs showing the coloring scheme

(vibgyor) -violet indigo blue green yellow orange red

if i want to show vibgy_r ...i just hide the 6th box
but there is a space between y and r

is there any way to make it hidden

I WANT TO DISPLAY VIBGYR (WITHOUT THE SPACE)..is there any way i do it programaticaly (within crystal)?

Not in the way you are trying to do it.  Crystal cannot move/resize the boxes.

However you could do something like this for each text box.  Set the color using a formula

Textbox1
Color formula
if left({?ColorString},1) = "v" then
Color (xxx, yyy, zzz)  code for violet (may be able to use crViolet)
else if left({?COlorString},1) = "i" then
Color (xxx, yyy, zzz)  code for indigo (may be able to use crIndigo)
etc.

Textbox 2
if mid({?ColorString},2,1) = "v" then
Color (xxx, yyy, zzz)  code for violet (may be able to use crViolet)
else if mid({?COlorString},2,1) = "i" then
Color (xxx, yyy, zzz)  code for indigo (may be able to use crIndigo)
etc.

etc for each textbox in turn

For textbox 7
if length((?ColorString) <> 7  then
    crWhite
else same as above

You could then suppress textbox 7 with
length((?ColorString) <> 7
