In auto preview I see a lot of code as oppose to what the sender has written.  How can I change it so I can read the text?

What sort of "code" are you seeing?  Can you provide a sample?

When I try to paste it in here, it turns into English.  Basically the first two lines in the preview pane are web addresses instead of the message.  This is more likely to happen if it is from a service than from a friend or business associate.

I haven't tried the prior solution yet.  It sounded like I would have to export my file but I am not sure in what format.  Create a new pst file and then import it.
"Basically the first two lines in the preview pane are web addresses..."
That sounds like the internet header.  If so, then I don't think there's much you can do about it.

"I haven't tried the prior solution yet."
What prior solution?
someone at expert exchange said that with windows xp, if I copied a previous pst file into a new computer I would have the above described display.  He said I needed to create a new file and then import my contact information into it.
I don't know what importing contact information would have to do with how messages display.  Do you have a link to the other post so I can read what was said?
I disagree with his answer.  I have scads of PSTs that were created in previous versions of Outlook and when I moved up to 2003 they all worked just fine.  I've never imported their contents to a 2003 format PST.  Since cutting and pasting apparently changes the way things look, could you take a snapshot of the screen and post the resulting file somewhere that I can get to it?  It'd help tremendously if I could see what you're describing.
where do you suggest I post it.  Your email says I am not to send files.

I will try to find one of those free servers to subscribe to.  That would do it, wouldn't it.  I took the snapshot.  Now the only time the code appears is when it is some sort of subcription service and the code is usually its web site.

That said, perhaps it isn't abnormal to appear that way.

But....if it is, and we'd like to figure it out, I will find a server
