Shortcut to create a New Folder

What is the quickest (least key strokes or mouse clicks) to create a "New Folder".  The keyboard strokes i know: <ALT>,<F>,<W>,<F>.  Thats 4.  Mouse: Right click, move mouse over new, then click New folder.  Just a pain.

I also have a Microsoft wireless desktop elite keyboard with programable buttons.  But from what i can tell, they will just run an .exe.

Solution that would be best for me, just hit one of my programmable buttons, or combo key stroke <ctrl-N>

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but its real irritating to me.

Thanks

Jason

You can use *.vbs

Set WSHShell=WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WScript.Sleep 500
WSHShell.SendKeys "%(FWW{RIGHT}F)"

That is for a Windows 2000 menu, you can adjust the keypresses to what ever you like.

I use this free program, and when it's installed, all you have to do is right click the folder or drive you want a new folder in, left click "New Folder", then type the name of the new folder.

http://billsway.com/vbspage/
Create Folder Context Menu Item

Creates new right click context menu item for drives and directories (folders) allowing the creation of a new folder.  To Install or Un-install, double click the script file.

Spiderfix-

you lost me at hello....lol

I think i need the pre-school version of your answer.

LeeTutor-

While i can see the benefits of this software, its still basically the same amount of steps.

My "dream" is to be able to push one button to create a new folder.

thanks

jason

Check out this tool:

http://office.weblogsinc.com/entry/1234000280027420/

New Folder at the press of the F12 key.

The VBS solution can be seen in detail here:

And there are several discussions on the topic here:

>>you lost me <<

You would save those 3 lines in Notepad as "make.folder.vbs" (no *.txt extension).
Put it in a folder and two-click it to make a folder.

or

Put it in C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Send To (hidden folder)
then right-mouse, Send To, make.folder.vbs

Spiderfix, thanks for the clarification.  Makes sense now.

And to be honest, i thought i already accepted pcgabe's answer.  That tool he suggested works like a champ is EXACTLY what i was looking for.  I can hit F12 on my keyboard, or it created a new icon on the toolbar that i can click, enter name of new folder, and bingo, there it it.  Perfect!!

Thanks
