Need to intercept a print job and view contents
Greetings,
I'm wondering if there's a Windows printer option which will allw me to output the contents of the printout to a text file. I need to intercept the contents of the printout, for secondary processing, but have no access to the source code of the program generating the printout. I also do not have access to the database shema and don't want to take the risk of accessing the database.
If you have an answer, I'd be most appreciative.
Sincerely,

Depends what program your using. i know in microsoft you can pick a printer and where is an option to print to a file. But as i said it depends on the program used.

Avery,
Is there a way to assign a default path and filename for the print job? This method could only work for me if it were automatic, with no human intervention needed.
Thanks,

I've checked a few places and tinkered with the settings but I don't see any way to automate the destination.
Sorry.
