How can I apply a skew effect to a movie clip using Actionscript?

I'm trying to replicate the effects I use frequently on the timeline into functions so I can just enter a line of code rather than copying and pasting frames over and over, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to duplicate the skew effect that I frequently use on movie clips. Basically, it just moves across the stage to an end point, skews out about 15 degress and then straightens back up and moves back to the left about 20 pixels. I can make the movie clip move to an end point and stop, but I can make it skew out to the right because there doesn't seem to be an actionscript equivalent of the transform panel. The few code examples I've seen have made my head swim and seem like overkill for what I want to do. Can anyone help me come up with a quick function that would skew a movie clip a specified number of degrees, let it sit there for a second or two, and then straighten the movie clip back up?
