How to dissolve the edges of a photoshop image?

I need to know how I can dissolve the edges of a photoshop image?

Hi esam,

If by dissolve what you mean is to fade... it's fairly easy.

1. Place four guidelines to mark a "box" inside your image. This box should be slightly larger than the fade you want to apply. i.e. if you want the fade to be 20 pixels wide the box should be around half that, 10 pixels from the edge of the image.
2. Make sure that View>Snap to>Guides is chacked. Use the Rectangle tool to select your box.
3. Go to Select>Inverse (Ctrl-I) to inverse the selection.
4. Go to Select>Feather and enter the same number as the distance between box and edge, 10 in my example.
5. Hit Delete.

You're done!!

There are other ways using adjustment masks or layers, but this one is the easiest one.
