Stream audio over network.

Hi,

I need to record audio from a mic, and straight away (or, at least, as soon as possible), stream this audio over a Socket, where it will be recieved and played back, on the other end.

No idea how to do this though, haven't done much work with Sound.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob.

Depends how sophisticated you want, and what you are streaming to.
YOu can simply write the audio to your stream as you record it, and the other end can play it as it recieves it same as with playing any audio stream.
Or you can use JMF if you want something more general.

As for transmit / receive the captured audio above (similar to the example above [save to file]) see (comes with code examples):
