file system in HD suddenly converted to RAW from NTFS
I have the same problem as pmsr2828 11/29/2004
I have tried using two of the tools mentioned. However, despite a lot of activity by these tools no files are shown as recovered or capable of being recovered. I am at a loss as to how to proceed from here? Help please.

To everyone - many thanks for your help. I tried again with the tools mentioned. My internal hard disks are NTFS. I originally tried using the tools recommended, on the asumption that the problem external USB drive was also NTFS. In playing around, I discovered that the file system was FAT32 and using the tools recommended I have recovered all of my files. I have then formatted the USB drive (200 gig) in the NTFS format and all is A OK.
Good to hear. : )
