Taking good screenshots from DVD movies on my laptop

I was wondering how i can take better screenshots on my laptop so i can have some photoshop or FW fun and put myself or friends "in the movies".  I have fraps that i am using (trial version, so images are bmp) to take the screenshots and InterActual Player or IntervideoWin DVD for watching the movies.  The images, when i set them as my desktop background, are very pixilated and not very good quality...  Do i need a better dvd player to get a better screenshot or what a better screenshot program?  Cheers!

Hi Rookie,

WinDVD has a capture feature built in. All you need to do is hit the P key while playing your movie to make a capture and open the Capture Browser. From there you can save your captured images as either JPG or BMP. It will work better if you do your captures while running your movie at Full Screen mode. Keep in mind that movie frames are rarely crisp images, specially if there's a lot of movement involved, so you may want to be careful with that and choose scenes with little or no movement.
