mysql and mythtv

Hi,

I'm trying to install mythtv (at program for watching tv on linux) on suse 9.2 and I almost have it except for some mysql stuff.  When I try to run mythfrontend, it can't connect to the database because of this error:

Database error was:
Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

I have used webmin and given the correct user all permissions in the correct database, but I can't figure out how to disable authentication so I can get this thing to work!

If you need more info, please let me know,

Thanks,

Shaun

sounds like you have installed mysql 4.1 or later
try to install mysql 3.23.x or 4.0.x or check mythtv's docs how to use mysql 4.1.x
