securing access to web site

Hi All

I have installed a CD server, it can be accessed from the URL by http://xxxxx.com, for every one, I need a way to control the access to this page by obly some users.
Is there any way to control the access to this page.

Note there is no type of authentication on thw manual.

Thanks

Hi ibmas4002,

Here is a great link to help you out.  It describes each authentication method for you and how to configure them.

How To Configure IIS Web Site Authentication in Windows Server 2003

One other note you may want to use NTFS permission behind all of this as well.  Assign the user or group what ever permission they need.  If they will be installing application from the CDs then they will only need Read permission.

I need a bit more info to understand the setup here.  So how do you clients connect to this server?  I thought above you said they connect using http which would imply a web server. Do they use an FTP client?   Are they members of the same domain?  Are they on the same network.
