Up until recently I have had Backup Exec v9.1 work fine. &nbsp;However recently I got a reminder to clean the tape drive. &nbsp;I put in a standard DSS Cleaning Tape, it goes through the motions and eventually spits out the tape. &nbsp;However every morning the message asking to clean the tape reappears, and I am no longer receiving email notification about the jobs either failling or succeeding. &nbsp;I have checked several backups and they seem to work fine.<br />

Backup Exec v9.1 with DAT72 - error cleaning tape

The term "Backup" means the methods and processes involved to copy computer data (system data as well as application data) to media other than the ones where the data originally live (disk, tape, optical, cloud). "Restore" in turn means the methods and processes involved in data recovery, i. e., bringing back copied computer data to their original location. Backup/Restore primarily serves as a means of protection against data loss, be it due to disaster, corruption or sabotage.
