Monitor desktop over lan

Hi.

I'd like to build an app that can show in my form
a users desktop in Lan and what he/she is doing real time.
Like "Remote Anything".

Is it possible? Can u provide a working code?

Thanks in advance? :)

This would be a very hard application to write, and the reason you dont see many around, or even examples, is because it is far easier and cheaper to use someone else's   :o)

Thats what i guessed... But who knows...
I dont want any functions E.x To handle the other pcs desktop ... If that makes it easier...
Just view the other desktop as a real time video...
--->If that makes it easier LOL :)

I agree with mikelittlewood why right it yourself when others have already done the job, for a good option try RealVNC

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

You could look for C code of VNC on the net. As far as I remember it's source is available. You will have to rewrite it for delphi.
Search google.
Cheers

There's a delphi project with source called remotecontrol in http://www.radix.net/~bziegler/Delphi/Source.html that works over TCP/IP
It's a PCAnywhere similar application. I've tried it some time ago and found it very good (need Ben's Delphi Library, free library  with source also available there).

I use another variant of VNC, TightVNC, that compress a little more and also let you see the desktop on a web page (using Java). Code is on its web page, just google for TightVNC abd you'll get to http://www.tightvnc.com/

you can also create your own cheap version, basically you take a snapshot and send it over the network (that's what VNC does, but they do it in little squares and using many optimizations)

I believe all the examples need a client app and a server app.
Is there a way i can take only a snapshot without installing anything on the other machine?

I don't know of any built-in windows function to do that, unless you could fire those key-strokes from a VBScript and past the clipboard to a bmp file and save it, but that's (if possible) beyond my vbscript knowledge

You are going to need a client.
