Accessing different wireless networks automatically

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is some software that would allow you to connect to a Leap network, Wep network and a Peap network (All located in different places.) automatically, without having to manually change profiles ?

Thanks,

Daryl

Windows XP should do this.  Make sure you have the option to let windows manage your wireless connection checked in the config for your wireless card.

Works for me.

I know Cisco's Aironet software does it.  What software are you using now for the Leap connection?

Hi Stefmahoney,

Yea, I am using Cisco's Aironet software for the leap connection. Problem is when you go from a Leap network to a wep network to no security at all (airports) you have to manually figure out (through profiles) how to connect.

I am looking for something to choose or tell me the network (type) if found and connect to it automatically.

I remember the Cisco software having an option to auto select listed networks which is not enabled by default.  Haven't gotten a look at the software yet to check where it's at in the software.

You must have more than one profile in ACU to do this.

Open ACU
Choose Select Profile
Select Use Auto Profile Selection
Click OK

Note you can set the priority of the networks using the manage button.
