How the data and tv channels possible through the same RF cable?

    how can you download 2 things at the same time - they run along side each other, a certain part of the bandwidth is reserved for cable tv, and the rest is left for the cable modem.

    i know here in Australia, we have a big telstra box which splits the cable and handles all this quality of service stuff.

    Many Cable Companies use SCDMA and TDMA technologies to do so.
    The data pass through a modulation profile at different frequencies.
    For the internet .. u have specified downstream and upstream frequencies and your cable modem tuner locks the specified frequency for the internet ..
