Microstation-j 7.02 client getting stuck
Clients are facing a problem when using Microstation-j clients.
After working some time in Microstation, the application hangs, causing the user to forcefully closing the application and starting it again, resulting in no work being save and sometimes the file getting corrupted.
The clients have windows XP professional with SP2 installed. Is there a software compatibitlity with windows XP.
What can be the solution.

Is it possible that those problematic workstation are not connected to the internet and that Microstation have a daily update/tip system, something like Autodesk had and dropped ('AutoCad Today' IIRC), that can make Microstation 'hang', waiting for a reply or connection/verification?
Hey essa13
You shouldn't be losing any work because Microstation saves changes on-the-fly.
How many clients are experiencing this?
Is it happening at the same time everyday?
Are the design files on a network storage location?
Are you running the version 7.01.05.03? That's the version certified on Windows XP. I don't know if it's certified for SP2 though.

Since the asker didn't notified if it helped a lot, a little or not at all, its ackward to make a recommandation.
Although Haikle last 2 lines are certainly of value, I assume atm that MY post didn't helped, so i would be fine with a refund to Essai13.

Refund is not an option - the Asker simply ignored the experts. Which means No refund:)
I am thinking of delete- no refund...

Given the additionnal delay of one week, it sounds like an acceptable procedure to me.
Normally, I can see where there's really no big deal on deleting without refund.
However, considering the low level of activity in the CAD area, you need to consider giving the participating experts at least partial points for trying. IMO, as it is now, there's just not enough questions being asked to keep all of us busy.

Considerations for this last option would be indeed appreciated.

First of All, I appreciate your effort to answer my problem. First I didn't ignore the question I was waiting for an email stating a response and I just received all the notifications today itself 29-6-05 so before you fire up on me its not my fault.
2nd i thank your efforts.
"haikle" questions are resonable.
1) All cients are facing this
2) Almost happening at the same time
3) Work files are in deed over the network.
4) I am running verion 7.02.04.14
We suspected a network problem (infrared) therefore we monitored and found it being dropping at certain times. We realigned the points and are monitoring since.
But certain users have complained that it is still hanging - not the majority of them.
Therefore, the problem is not 100% solved

Points are awarded any time we have an answer. IF we do not - sorry but I won't keep a thread with no value in the database just to give points... The main reason for cleanup is to add teh solutions to the database; the points is the secondary one :) There is no difference between small and big area....:)

Don't worry, If I would to award points, I will award him in full. I just need some more time on the question in case there is another solution.
