Generic Processing Error in Windows 2000

I have created a new user in Administration Tools, Active Directory Users & Computers.

I can log in to the users account successfully on my server, but when I try and connect to the server he will be using, I get the error message that the user does not exist on the Network.

When I try and add user to the User/Group Account on the PC he will be using, I get the error message 'Name Translation: Generic Processing Error'

What does this mean? and how can I fix this problem?

has the new acccount replicated to all DCs in your domain?

Are there any errors listed in the Event Viewer.?
Please list Event ID details..

Is this a workgroup or do you create the user on a domain controller?
If its a domain, I'd look at replication problems between domain controllers.
If its a workgroup I think just can't add an account from a different computer to another computer. All users/groups in a workgroup are local to the machine.

Hope it helps,

Michael
