Hello all
I am trying to upgrade from VB 6 to VB.Net. The application i want to upgrade compiles and works OK in VB 6. Using the upgrade wizard i get the following error message
" Upgrade failed - Exception occured. Could not load refrenced component ODBCTOOL.DLL ( ODBC driver & Datasource name functions 2.0.0) Need to install this component before upgrade"

Bit new to this lark so how do i find out what the component is etc.

Best regards to all

Sorry, But never ever upgrade a vb6 program with the upgrade tool in .net (it produces inefficient unreadable code)
if it upgrades at all (anything above a simple hello world programm, usually creates more errors then there are lines of code)

Write it from scratch you will produce far better code than any upgrade tool ever will, and as a bonus you will learn a new language aswell, VB6 differs from .net in so many ways and the upgrade tools usually doesn't take advantange of this.

Take it from somebody who has been down that road (it took me more time to debug the upgraded code, than I did writing it from scratch
