Moving recurring calendar items to another user's calendar

I'm trying to move recurrent calendar items from one user's calendar to another's, but I am getting the error that it cannot be done because I need to move the original appointment, or copy the single occurence and move the copy. Is there no other way of doing this?

As for the original appointment, I JUST created a recurring event and tried moving it. Isn't that the original appointment?

Depending on how much stuff in the first user's calendar there is that you don't want in the second calendar, you can export the calendar into a .pst and then import it into the other calendar.
