Remove old Exchange Server from Exchange System Manger

Hi Everyone,

I added a new Exchange 2000 Enterprise server to our Windows 2000 domain evironment and ran uninstall of the old exchange server and it ran without error, however the old exchange server, which is 2000 as well by the way, is still stuck inside of Exchange System Manager  (ESM) under Servers.  Whenever I click on it inside ESM I get a long stall in the software.

I'm planning on domain / exchange upgrades like going to native mode for both but this is bugging me as the old server should be gone.

Any sugguestions on this one?

Thanks,

Dean

If you haven't seen this yet, give it a try:

If you've already seen this and it didn't work, let me know...

there are two places u should look for the exhange server and if u find it delete it
using ADSIEdit  configuration\services\Microsoft Exchange\urdomain\administrative group\servers and look for the old boy and delete it if u find it there
then using active directory sites and services MMC
enable SHOW SERVICES NODE and under first administrative group under microsoft
exchange locate SERVERS and see if the server is listed there...if so delete it...
and see if ur problem is solved...
also dont forget to refresh ur view in ESM...

Thanks guys,

FInally got to this.

I wasn't able to use ldp.exe , because nothing ever appeared in the left window, but Vahik comments worked great. The old exchange server has been removed. Should be safe to go to Exchange 2000 native mode.

Thanks!
