Single layer DVD burning in a Dual Layer Burner

Hi,

Is it possible to burn a DVD onto 4.7GB disc using a dual layer burner?

I currently use a single layer burner with DVD Shrink and Nero, but when I use DVD Shrink with the Dual Layer Burner, it errors half-way through.

Yes, absolutley.

All dual layer burners will also do single layer.

All DVD burners that I am aware of will also burn both CD-R and CD-RW.

Virtually all DVD burners will burn both "R" and "RW" DVD media of the appropriate type (+ or - type).

All modern DVD burners will burn both + type media and - type media, but early DVD burners were often + only or - only.

Warning:  Do not use rewriteable media ("RW" media), either CD or DVD, for anything important.  The media does not have good long-term retention capability.
