I was just throwing together a program for the boss and using ADO in conjunction with an Access DB to do the job.  The program assumes that some information is taken off of AS400 (soon to be SQL Server) and puts it into an Access DB file.

Once the Access file has the information the program use's ADO to display/update data in the Access DB.

Afterward the information on the AS400 (soon to be SQL Server) is updated from the Access file.

(The program needs to run on a computer or handheld device (designing for a PC atm) that is NOT networked.)

Where can i go to get a basic overview of the diffrences between ADO and ADO.NET?  Or can someone lay out the diffrences here?  While i started this in ADO i want to use the latest technology in the long run and in things i will be making in the future.
