Need help selecting server back up software

I am backing up a server to hard drive and am looking for software that can schedule weekly full back ups and daily incrementals.  In addition, I need to be able to backup to CD once every two weeks for disaster recovery.  I've been trying out Veritas and I don't believe it will back up to CD.

We're using V2i protector on the desktops to back up to a hard drive on our server and this seems to work quite well (with periodic backups to CD).  I'd like to do something similar with the server, but the cost of the server version of V2i protector (now called Symantec LiveState Recovery Standard Server) is pretty high for our small business.  Is there any other products out there that would be capable but more cost effective?

I've been using Windows Back Up for quite a while and it just doesn't seem to be dependable.  Plus, I can't check it every day to make sure it has ran, so it would be nice to be able to receive some notification (by email).

Does anyone have any suggestions?  If I am being to vague, please feel free to ask some follow up questions.

    Check these for applications.

As for backing up to cd.. from a server.. how long will it take before your data won't fit onto a cd? then what?

For some of our servers we use Blat to email the success and failure of ntbackup.

One thing that V2i does is split up the back up into 700 MB files.  We also have a DVD burner on the server so I guess it wouldn't have to be CD for that.  I am looking at the links you provided.
