Backup Exec 8.6 problem

I have a windows 2000 server running backpu exec 8.6 with all latest builds and patches.  There are a number of jobs definitions with a daily and weekly backup configured.

Recently we have removed our old exchange server and replaced with new hardware and a different name, yet backup exec is still trying to backup the old server, evn though it doesnt exist.  I get the  following in ALL my job logs:

Unable to attach to \\<old server name>\System?State.
Access is denied.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Unable to attach to \\<old server name>\System?State.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

as the old server no longer exists there is no way to remove it from the selections tab of the job definition (it is not even listed) and so get this error (and a "failed" backup every day.

Is there a way to remove this entry from the job??

Thanks in advance.

    I would suggest 2 things,

    1) Delete and recreate the job with the new server name.

    2) Create a host/lmhost file on this machine or a static entry in WINS/DNS to point the old server name to the IP address of your new system.   Ugly, but it will work.

    Have solved this myself.

Under selections tab, use the "text mode" button, and delete the line of the mssing server.

I will request a closure and refund of points.

    Thanks MikeKane for you input.
