Unable to logon with New User Accounts

I have a Windows 2000 Domain with Active Directory running in mixed mode.  All has been fine except recently I created a new user account and when I try to log into the domain I get the response "the system could not log you on".  All previously created user accounts have no problem only the ones I create now.  At first I thought "Global Catalog Problem" but supposedly if the account is a member of the "Domain Admins Group", it would be able to login anyway.  In any case I made the account member of "Domain Admins Grooup" and still no success.

So i think domain admin itself can log on to the system? Did you try to re-create it again and see if it can log on or not? This type of problems are difficult to resolve but will take some time.

Yes Domain Admins can log on....only new user accounts from any workstation, all previously created accounts can login with no problem.  I've tried to create serveral different user accounts with the same result.  I can even rename and old account and it works fine.  No event log information.

are there relevent event log errors on the DC where you tried to create accounts?

can you logon to the DC console with the new Dom Admin account?

No errors at all in the event logs.  No, I can't logon to the DC with the new Domain Admin Account.

so it seems like a GC problem...
can you logon with the account on the DC with RDC?

Only domain admins can log on if the GC is not working and no other account even if you make them member of this group because Domain Admin has the highest previleges and M$ reserve this right for them in case something happen to the server or client and users are not able to log on so Domain Admin can log on and do the needfull. So i agree with the comment supplied by the theruck. Its a GC Problem only. How many domain controllers you have? If more then one then please check replication first. If not solved then do one thing...goto Active Directory Sites and Services and then from there uncheck GC once > restart server and then again recheck it and then again restart. All services should be able to re-initialize GC Server.

Let us know.
