Force DrillDownGroupLevel = x based on condition

Hi everyone,

I have 3 grouping levels in a report, including 'No Grouping' as an option.  If they select "No Grouping" it groups on the same parameter as above which means they have to select the same data again to get down to the detail level - I'd prefer to just automate this step straight down to the detail.

Is it possible that on a condition like:
IF {?Group3Parameter} = "No Grouping" and DrillDownGroupLevel = 2 then
   DrillDownGroupLevel  = 3

and where would I put it?

Thanks
Chris

I must admit I'm not fully clear on your report layout here but unfortunately you don't have any control of the drill down functionalty.

CR doesn't allow you to use conditional formulas for drill down the same as suppression.

Agree with Gary.  As far as I know a drill down report is first presented with the all drill downs closed up and only when a drill down is selected is it opened.

Are you trying to do this from Crystal or an application?

From Crystal.

Would it be possible to 'automate' the selection of a record in the groupdown with a condition?

Thanks for the help though!

You can't automate drill downs at all in CR.

The only option I can see is to create 2 identical subreports 1 with drill down and one without. place these in seperate report headers and suppress  the relevant report using a conditional suppression formula  based on a parameter.

Thanks for the help - that would be quite a cool feature though!
