Used to work fine until I upgraded the soft remote. Now after 4 days I got the vpn to connect. I used to able to map a drive , look at security cameras etc. Host is small Lan with netgear 318. I tried to ping any of the addresses I know are at the sight (192.168.10.1) is the router plus others.....no response. PVT address is 172.17.0.1
sub...255.255.252.0   No firewall  OS is xp pro at the sight. I am on w2000 with safenet software. Thanks

your polic successfullt negotiates a VPN connection phase 1 and 2 , is win2k service pack 4?

have you tryed reloading the policy?

instead of pinging , have you tried to traceroute?

in your network protocols for your lan , what is listed~?
Thanks.... andydis
I got rid of the dns.org and set vpn direct...turned off dns(none) and was able to finally ping the Wan.
Key came on and wala I,m back. Only issue before and after is that I have to reboot the netgear 318 every so often or the vpn will not conect. This is the second router this has done this with. Do you know if there a software glitch with Netgear fvs 318 ver 2.4?
Thanks
