I found good material on renaming domain controllers here but did not see anything covering domain controllers with exchange server and MSSQL server.

I have a client with a SBS 2003 server utilizing all services included with SBS on the same physical machine that wishes to rename their domain.

Can I apply this method?

http://www.petri.co.il/windows_2003_domain_controller_rename.htm

I know renaming a domain controller in 2000 with Exchange is a nightmare and something I do not want to experience again.

Thank you in advance,

Sorry, but renaming a Small Business Server domain (or the SBS itself) is not possible:

Important: After you install Windows Small Business Server 2003, you cannot change the full DNS name for the internal domain, the NetBIOS domain name, or the computer name. These settings are used to configure Windows Small Business Server tools and applications. To change these names, you must reinstall Windows Small Business Server 2003.
