Help!  I cannot remove folder in Outlook 2003 Favorite Folders

I install MS Office 2003 with all the latest updates for a user.  For some reasons, his favorite folders shows "Public folder Unread Mail", "Public folder Send Items", etc.  When you click on it, it gives you error says cannot access it.  When I want to right click to "remove from the favorite folder", this option is not available.  Does anyone knows how to remove these "Public folder" short cuts??  500 big ones.  Thank you.

    Accepted Solution

Find the file called <profilename>.xml, and rename it to something like <profilename>.old, then start Outlook.  Outlook will recreate the file and start up.  This file holds your shortcuts and favorite folders.

The file is at C:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\microsoft\outlook
